Job summary

The John Innes Centre in Norwich invites applications for the JIF Communications and Engagement Intern to support education programmes and the John Innes Foundation. You will work with schools, help develop engaging content and capture impact through stories and digital resources.

This 12-month, full-time internship offers hands-on experience in education, public engagement and science communication, with training in event planning, stakeholder engagement and content creation.

Qualifications

• Educated to A level or equivalent. Essential
• Educated to Degree level or equivalent. Essential
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel. Essential
• Experience of organising, supporting or reporting on events or activities. Essential
• Strong written communication skills and an interest in creating engaging content. Essential

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, promotion and delivery of education and engagement activities.
• Gather stories, photographs, quotes and other materials from education programme activities.
• Create and share engaging content across communication channels to raise awareness of JIF programmes and impact.
• Assist with website content updates and accessibility for online audiences.
• Provide administrative and event support and coordinate activities with the Education Programme Coordinator.
