Job summary

Hays Education is recruiting an ICT Technician to provide first-line support across 2 high schools and 3 primary schools in the Wakefield area. You will resolve ICT helpdesk tickets, support hardware/software, and keep technology operational to aid teaching and learning.

The role requires experience in a service desk or ICT technician role, with strong Windows and Microsoft 365 knowledge, and AD user management. DBS Update Service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in ICT Support/Service Desk/ICT Technician roles.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365 and common ICT hardware.
• Experience with Active Directory administration and user accounts.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, customer-focused approach to support.
• Experience supporting schools, colleges or education environments is advantageous.
• Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support for devices, software, user accounts, printers and classroom technology.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network-related issues.
• Install, configure and maintain ICT equipment.
• Create and administer user accounts within Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Support device imaging, deployments and upgrades.
• Assist with classroom audio-visual technology.
• Carry out routine maintenance and keep ICT equipment operational.
• Maintain accurate records within ICT helpdesk and asset management systems.
• Escalate complex issues and support wider ICT projects.
• Travel between Wakefield area sites to provide support.
