Job summary

Carers Trust Crossroads West Wales is seeking a Young Carers Education Development Officer to deliver the Fair Futures programme in Carmarthenshire schools and partner settings. The role focuses on identifying young carers, improving school practice and embedding Welsh and English resources.

The post is 35 hours per week, fixed term until October 2029, with travel to education venues and organisational offices as required. Salary £29,283 per annum pro rata.

Qualifications

• Working with children, young people, families or education settings.
• Delivering training, awareness sessions, workshops or presentations to different audiences.
• Building professional relationships and working with schools and partners.
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to monitoring or reporting.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with education providers and review identification, recording, referral arrangements.
• Deliver pupil awareness sessions and staff training, and provide practical resources to strengthen school policies and referrals.
• Support schools to embed improvements and gather evidence for evaluation.
• Enable young carers to influence delivery and promote bilingual access where required.
• Maintain records and produce monitoring reports and case studies.
