SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking a General Assistant to join our education catering team in Borehamwood. The role covers breakfast, lunch, snacks and coffee, with a 40‑hour work week on a 3‑month contract, Monday to Friday, 6.30am–3pm.

The ideal candidate has barista skills, health & safety knowledge, and a flexible, team‑oriented approach to deliver high‑quality food service for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering environments.
• Barista skills and knowledge of coffee preparation.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures in food service.
• Flexible with a can‑do attitude and strong customer focus.
• Organized with good attention to detail and teamwork.
• Enthusiastic and energetic with a positive approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks and coffee according to menus.
• Maintain cleanliness of front-of-house areas and organize dishes and utensils.
• Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure safety.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during meals.
• Participate in training sessions and meetings related to food service procedures and safety.
