Job summary

Holroyd Howe is hiring a General Assistant to support education catering with lunchtime and snack service, front- and back-of-house duties, and strict adherence to food safety policies.

The role focuses on delivering delightful dining experiences for students and staff within a school setting, with term-time scheduling and occasional evening events. Training and development are available, plus meals and employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in education catering is desirable but not essential.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge is required.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude and customer focus.
• Energetic, fun and enthusiastic team player.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of lunch, and snacks according to established menus and recipes.
• Maintain front-of-house cleanliness, including organising dishes and utensils.
• Maintain back-of-house cleanliness, including washing up, sweeping and mopping.
• Follow cleaning rotas, health and safety, and other policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of shortages.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes.
• Participate in training sessions related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
• Complete all mandatory training within set time scales.
