Job summary

Newbury College is seeking a Carpentry Construction Technician to support teaching and learning in carpentry, plumbing and electrical trades. You will order teaching resources, maintain workshop equipment and prepare materials for classes while ensuring health and safety compliance in a dynamic educational environment.

You’ll work to maintain safe, well-equipped workshops and contribute to creating inspiring spaces for students pursuing skilled trades.

Qualifications

Level 2 Qualification in English and Maths.
Experience ordering and handling storage of materials linked to the business need.
Practical skills in carpentry or plumbing or willingness to undergo some training in basic skills in these areas.
Understanding of workshop safety and maintenance.
Good organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

Order and prepare teaching resources such as wood, metals, plumbing and electrical components.
Maintain workshop equipment and ensure a safe, efficient learning environment.
Prepare materials for teaching sessions and stock supplies.
Support health and safety compliance in the workshop.
