Job summary

Scott & Co in Edinburgh is seeking a Trainee Sheriff Officer to start immediately. You will gain a new qualification through on-the-job learning and 121 coaching to develop the practical skills required for sheriff work.

After qualification, you will have the opportunity to advance as a Sheriff Officer with salary progression, a company car, and further training as a messenger at arms. This role offers a clear path within Marston Holdings’ judicial services network.

Qualifications

• SCQF Level 4 or equivalent.
• Excellent ability to communicate.
• Clear focus on quality and accuracy.
• Positive outlook and with a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Valid UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Sheriff Officer in the execution of their duties.
• Processing service updates reports and fees in real time via Optimise Tablet platform.
• Checking documents for accuracy corroborating facts and dialogue obtained during customer interactions.
• On road training from experienced Sheriff Officer.
• Weekly Training sessions delivered by Training & Development Manager.
• Homework assignments.
• Regular progress assessments.
