About The Department

About The Role

Reporting to the Head of Client Assurance Technical, this role will supervise, develop, and manage risk and intelligence within the adviser platform business, ensuring the risk and control framework is well-designed, robust, and aligned with standard methodologies for the protection of client assets and risk management. The role involves contributing to the development of best-in-class CASS & risk management arrangements and creating appropriate intelligence sources for effective oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and control the Client Assurance Risk & Control framework, ensuring it is current, accurate, complete, and regularly tested, with a focus on CASS controls.
  • Provide assurance to senior management that CASS risk and controls are effectively managed.
  • Lead the risk and control framework, managing audits and reviews.
  • Manage the Client Assurance Team Intelligence arrangements, providing updates to forums, senior management, and the board on risk, breaches, and CASS matters.
  • Oversee Client Assurance Technical training and education, including the CASS CBT and board training, ensuring content accuracy and proper delivery.
  • Provide guidance on Risk & Intelligence across Client Assurance Technical.
  • Drive effective risk, intelligence, and oversight arrangements proactively across the adviser business.
  • Apply commercial judgment to CASS & risk arrangements.
  • Display leadership within the Client Assurance department and the adviser business.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of FCA’s CASS rules and their application to platform businesses.
  • Good understanding of broader compliance requirements.
  • Strong risk management and oversight principles knowledge.
  • Experience working with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
