Trial Balance Consulting is pleased to be re-engaged by one of our longstanding clients, a highly successful and rapidly expanding services business with several group entities operating across various sectors. They are seeking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant for their finance team. This is a permanent, full-time position based at the company's headquarters near Penzance.

This broad role supports the finance function and reports to an experienced and friendly Finance Manager. It offers an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to develop their management accounting skills and take responsibility for producing high-quality management information. Main duties include:

1. Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
2. Supporting all month-end procedures to meet tight deadlines
3. Ensuring efficient accounts payable and receivable controls
4. Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
5. Creating invoices and resolving discrepancies and queries
6. Monitoring aged debtors
7. Supporting the Finance Manager with various ad-hoc duties

Candidate Requirements

This role is ideal for an ambitious individual eager to focus on management reporting and develop their career. Candidates should ideally be part or fully AAT qualified. However, candidates with relevant vocational experience and a strong desire to progress will also be considered.

Proficiency in IT, especially digital accounting platforms such as Sage or Xero, is essential. Good communication and team-working skills are necessary, as the role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders within a busy environment.
