As a Senior Manufacturing Electrical Engineer at JLR Solihull, you will play a crucial role in enhancing Electrical quality and performance in our vehicles. You will be part of a new, dedicated Manufacturing Electrical Team, driving improvements and resolving issues impacting Electrical systems.

You will be an integral part of a multi-skilled team responsible for driving and improving Electrical RFT (Right First Time) across all current and future programmes. You will investigate and resolve electrical issues, monitor quality systems, follow problem-solving methodologies, carry out data analysis and reporting of key issues. You will work on current programmes driving continuous improvements, as well as support the early launch phases of programmes working within an agile framework.

The successful candidate will have a clear passion for the quality, continuous improvement, and innovation of both our products and the way we operate, approaching all activities with unity and integrity.

WHAT TO EXPECT

As the Senior Manufacturing Electrical Engineer, you'll:

  1. Manage a multi-skilled team to maintain and improve Electrical key performance targets.
  2. Lead and develop the team to resolve concerns, develop improvements, drive process changes, and engineering resolutions.
  3. Lead concern resolution through structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D), ensuring timely and robust corrective actions (ERA, ICA, PCA).
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to continuously identify and implement improvement actions that enhance Electrical performance.
  5. Support the Electrical delivery and quality assurance in New Model Programs.
  6. Contribute to the preparation and delivery of Electrical Performance Reports.
  7. Undertake any other work as directed by the line manager to support objectives of the team and wider department.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

  1. Strong technical background and extensive experience working on Vehicle networks, architectures, and electrical systems.
  2. Proficient in interpreting wiring diagrams, vehicle diagnostic data, with experience of using vehicle logging, measurement, and diagnostics tools.
  3. Highly competent with tools and techniques relating to robust problem resolution and ability to coach others.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to interact and communicate effectively at all organisation levels.
  5. Understanding of Agile methodology or willingness to learn.
