Job description

Sarum Electronics are recruiting for an additional electrical design engineer to join our busy office in Dorset on a permanent basis. Ideal candidates will have extensive HVAC knowledge or come from an M&E background. More importantly, solid electrical design experience is essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Design control panels for a wide range of HVAC installations and Building Energy Management Systems.
2. Generate circuit diagrams and mechanical layouts using CAD software.
3. Program PLC devices (training provided).
4. Provide technical support via telephone.
5. Qualify customer technical requirements.
6. Assist with electrical testing of control panels to ensure electrical safety and design integrity.
7. Carry out functional tests of PLC programs.

Work Scope:

Involves work across various Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning equipment including Air Handling Units, Ventilation & Smoke Extract systems, Electric Heater Batteries, Gas Burners & Boilers, Pumps, Air Conditioning, Energy Monitoring, Gas Detection, among others.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in control panel design or at least one year in electrical design.
• Excellent communication skills, as customer interaction is part of the role.

Preferred Skills:

• Understanding of HVAC applications and equipment.
• PLC programming experience.
• Electrical qualifications.

Package:

• Salary: £30k to £40k depending on experience.
• 37.5 hours per week.
