Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer - Milton Keynes

CTJ84 £55,000 - £65,000

This is an opportunity to become part of a UK-based engineering consultancy offering a broad range of building services solutions, including mechanical, electrical, and public health design. They are known for delivering high-quality, sustainable designs, from the pre-planning phase through to construction and post-occupancy optimization. Their expertise spans various sectors, including residential, commercial, educational, and healthcare projects.

About the Role:

As a Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of electrical systems across a range of exciting projects. From high-end residential developments to complex school and commercial buildings, you will lead the design process, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead electrical design across multiple projects, managing timelines and ensuring delivery within budget
2. Work closely with clients, architects, and contractors to develop detailed electrical system designs
3. Utilise design software including Amtech and Dialux to create efficient and compliant designs
4. Oversee and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support
5. Ensure designs meet regulatory standards and are compliant with health and safety guidelines
6. Liaise with other departments to coordinate multidisciplinary design processes

About You:

• Proven track record as an Electrical Design Engineer, ideally with residential, school, and commercial project experience
• Proficiency in Amtech and Dialux software is essential
• Strong project management skills, able to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members
• Relevant electrical engineering qualifications and professional certifications
• Strong knowledge of industry regulations, including BS7671
