My Client is recruiting for a Project Engineer in the Water Sector.

Location: Midlands/Yorkshire/Northwest areas with Hybrid and site working

Responsibilities include:

  1. Working within a team to deliver projects through design, build, and commissioning phases, assisting Project and Site Managers with programme and budget management. A mixture of site, office, and home working is required.
  2. Ensuring Health and Safety compliance during project activities on site throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Managing site M&E activities in line with the programme.
  4. Delivering MEICA projects within the Water Treatment Industry, primarily with a mechanical/hydraulic background and an understanding of electrical and ICA elements.
  5. Managing projects across the UK for major water utility companies, covering both clean water and sewage treatment, including non-infra and partnering infra projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in managing engineering disciplines and advise the Project Manager on progress against the project plan.
  2. Review methods and risk assessments, conduct technical briefings, and promote best practices.
  3. Ensure materials are specified correctly, orders meet the schedule, and maintain an up-to-date material schedule.
  4. Produce and implement inspection and surveillance regimes.
  5. Provide site support to ensure timely and compliant project execution, including procurement, H&S documentation, M&E installation supervision, and commissioning.
  6. Maintain safety standards, participate in safety meetings, and ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
  7. Produce project documentation such as procurement schedules, RAMS, SWPs, and support quality planning.
  8. Coordinate with clients and subcontractors regarding H&S inspections and audits.
  9. Work with project teams to ensure activities align with QA/ITP and maintain schedules.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. Proven MEICA project experience, with knowledge of control systems, valves, instrumentation, and ancillary packages.
  2. Understanding of water treatment processes, water movement, and chemical dosing.
  3. Hydraulic knowledge of water distribution and pumping systems.
  4. Proficiency in MS Project, Word, and Excel.
  5. Willingness to stay and work away as required.
  6. Certifications: EUSR - Water Hygiene, CSCS - Managers Card, SMSTS or equivalent.
