Job description

Lime Trust is seeking an experienced and adaptable HR Business Partner to join our London Regional Hub.

The Trust comprises 9 schools: 5 special and 4 primary, located in Peterborough, Luton, and North-East London. While each school has its unique context, they share common processes and policies across the Trust.

The successful candidate will lead a small HR team at the London regional hub in Chingford. Candidates should be experienced practitioners capable of motivating, managing, and building effective teams. They should share our values and be passionate about fostering an environment that supports staff growth and well-being.

We aim to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated HRBP to:

1. Manage a portfolio of HR casework and functions efficiently, providing advice on HR issues within the Trust schools.
2. Establish and develop a responsive Business Partner relationship with Trust Headteachers and Senior Leadership Teams.
3. Provide professional advice, support, and coaching to Trust Headteachers and Senior Managers on HR policies, processes, and procedures, ensuring fair and consistent application.
4. Advise School Senior Leadership Teams on the people management implications of school policies and strategies.
5. Recommend appropriate actions in line with best practices, policies, employment legislation, and statutory frameworks.
6. Handle cases delegated by the Head of HR, working with Trust leaders to initiate processes and oversee procedures such as sickness absence management.

We are looking for an HRBP who can demonstrate:

1. At least 3 years of experience as an HR Adviser/Officer in a generalist role, including ER case management.
2. Experience working in an HR role with a range of duties, preferably within the education sector.
3. Experience building effective relationships with trade unions.
4. Experience supporting managers across various people management areas, including recruitment, disciplinary, grievance, and absence management.
5. Proven ability to establish good working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including senior leaders, applicants, and employees.
6. Experience managing employee relations casework and applying HR best practices.
7. Experience leading and managing a team.
