We are excited to offer a fixed-term contract position for a Band 5 Nurse within our School Nursing Safeguarding Team. Our commitment to workforce development includes supporting the successful candidate's progression into the SCPHN (Specialist Community Public Health Nurse) School Nurse pathway.
Successful applicants will have the chance to apply for a funded SCPHN School Nurse training programme starting in January 2026, through an internal interview process. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and to develop a long-term career in school nursing.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a skill-mix team. Key responsibilities include:
Training will be provided, including a comprehensive competency document. The nurse will work independently once deemed competent and will manage a caseload of primary schools to support children and families. There will also be opportunities for broader professional exposure through visits to other teams.
