A great opportunity has arisen for a design-biased civil engineering Project Manager to join a leading construction management consultancy.
Job Responsibilities
- Planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of roads and car parks to ensure safe and cost-effective transportation of people and goods for a varied client base.
- Overseeing all development phases, from inception to delivery, of various construction and retail-related projects across the UK.
- Communicating across all management levels to develop and establish project briefs that clearly define objectives.
- Setting measurable objectives and timelines within projects; managing other consultant disciplines and contractors to ensure delivery within cost, time, and quality standards.
- Maintaining records and work folders, ensuring all work is checked and appropriately approved for distribution.
- Managing retail construction and redevelopment projects in a live environment.
- Chairing meetings internally and externally to capture actions and ensure their closure.
- Managing other cost management consultants and contractors to ensure timely completion within budget and timelines.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
- Full driving license and own car with the ability to travel within the UK.
- CSCS card - Black, Gold, or White (or possess the qualifications to achieve).
- Knowledge of highway design standards.
- Experience using AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and understand 2D drawings.
- Project management experience.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Basic understanding of CDM regulations.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Presentation and reporting skills.
- Experience working with retail clients and managing retail construction or redevelopment projects.
- SMSTS and CDM awareness training.
- Asbestos awareness training.
- Up-to-date knowledge of H&S legislation.
