Job summary

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support the multi-disciplinary team in the Accident & Emergency department. The role involves assisting nursing and medical staff with clinical investigations, ensuring effective communication with patients and visitors, and adhering to department protocols.

You will contribute to health promotion on discharge, manage patient communications across language barriers, and operate within the trust values

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine observations: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration rate, document observations and PAR scores.
• Carry out manual and machine analysis of urine samples, obtaining consent for urinary HCG readings as required.
• Perform cannulation and venepuncture on patients under ANTT protocol as directed by nursing or medical staff.
• Carry out treatments such as primary wound closure by Steri-Strip, skin adhesive and plaster of Paris splints per ANTT protocol.
