Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 5 Emergency Department Patient Flow Coordinator to support the Hot Floor team in the Medicine and Urgent Care Division. You will lead on flow, manage patient pathways, and work with clinical teams to improve throughput from arrival to discharge.

The role requires proactive bottleneck chasing, monitoring streaming and triage, plus coordinating with specialties, diagnostics and bed allocation to ensure timely patient movement and safe

Responsibilities

• Monitoring time to streaming, triage and work up and escalating delays that exceed targets
• Chasing specialities to review patients within the agreed SLA
• Chasing diagnostics to ensure they are ordered and completed/reported in good time
• Chasing results on blood tests if they haven’t been returned in good time
• Ensuring quick movement out of the department when patients are allocated beds and that their space is cleaned
