Job summary

MaPS, based in Bedford, is seeking an Economic Analyst to lead evaluation work and assess the impact of public services on users and the wider UK population.

You will analyse qualitative and quantitative data, collaborate with partner agencies, and present findings to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders. The role offers flexible, Bedford-based hybrid working and clear career development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in economics or a related field with at least 2 years' experience in an economic analysis role (policy analysis and economic impact assessment).
  • Knowledge of the principles of the HMT Green and Magenta Books, with practical experience in assessing policy or service impact.
  • Proficiency in analysing secondary data sources such as surveys, economic data, and literature reviews.
  • Experience in rigorous statistical and economic analysis using Excel, SPSS, SAS, Power BI, and R.
  • Designing and delivering robust economic analyses such as cost-benefit analysis, SROI, and economic modelling and forecasting.

What You'll Be Doing

The Economic Analyst will report directly to Senior Statistician and will be responsible for:

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in effectively engaging, negotiating, and working with subject matter experts and other key stakeholders.
