About Plum Play

Fancy joining a growing team that gets to say their job is making childhood more fun? Plum Play is the active play specialist behind the trampolines, swings and climbing frames in gardens across more than 40 countries, and we're on the lookout for someone brilliant to help take our online business even further, across the UK and Australia.

We're a family-owned business at heart (founded in Lincoln back in 1988 and still going strong), which means real autonomy, real trust, and a team that knows each other by name rather than employee number. If you love ecommerce and want to work somewhere that's genuinely proud of what it makes, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

A hands-on ecommerce role owning the day-to-day trading, marketing and platform performance of our online business across the UK and Australia. As well as owning trading and platform performance, you'll play a key role in building out our in-house ecommerce marketing team as we bring more activity in-house rather than relying on external agencies, hiring, developing and shaping a team that works well together. You'll work alongside an Amazon marketplace specialists, developers and Shopify experts based in both the UK and Australia, managing this mix of in-house resource directly. Some out-of-hours work is required to coordinate with the Australia team.

Strong, hands-on Shopify experience is essential for this role, including the ability to roll out and manage new Shopify storefronts as we expand into Europe and other international markets.

This is very much an in-person role, you'll be based at our Lincoln office full-time, working closely and collaboratively with the wider team day to day. It's a great fit for someone who thrives on being in the room with their team, not just connected to it.

Key responsibilities
  • Own ecommerce trading performance across all UK and Australia Shopify channels, working alongside Amazon, our other marketplaces, and our dropship accounts, including optimising dropship account performance
  • Lead the rollout of new Shopify storefronts as we expand into Europe and other international markets, managing setup, localisation and launch
  • Take full ownership of SEO and GEO, rather than outsourcing it, requiring strong, hands-on, up-to-date knowledge of both
  • Build and lead a strong in-house ecommerce marketing team as we bring more activity in-house, including hiring, developing and shaping team culture
  • Work alongside the marketing team to jointly manage UGC and social content, and optimise paid media across all social channels, as we move this in-house
  • Oversee email marketing and CRM through Klaviyo, including campaign performance and list health
  • Use analytics, attribution and price monitoring tools to make trading, budget and compliance decisions
  • Manage project workflows using our project management tools, keeping the wider team aligned on priorities
  • Manage our customer service and chat tools and platforms, liaising closely with the customer service team to keep things running smoothly
  • Brief and work with our development team on site builds, dashboards and technical priorities
  • Understand and protect price parity across our wholesale and retail channels, a critical consideration in our industry
  • Support international expansion planning, working closely with fulfilment and logistics
  • Oversee returns processes and courier integrations to improve the customer experience
  • Lead seasonal and peak trading campaign planning, including Black Friday
  • Manage product listing content and imagery across all channels
  • Coordinate with the Australia team on time zones that require occasional early or late hours
  • Report directly to the Managing Director on trading performance and budget
What you'll need
  • 5+ years' proven experience running ecommerce trading across Shopify and Amazon
  • Strong, hands-on Shopify experience is essential, including building and rolling out new storefronts for international markets
  • Strong, current knowledge of SEO and GEO, able to execute directly rather than just brief others
  • Understanding of retail, dropship and DTC industry dynamics, particularly price parity
  • Working knowledge of Klaviyo, Meta and Google Ads
  • Familiarity with project management and customer service platforms
  • Comfortable owning a P&L-style revenue and margin target
  • Experience building, leading or growing a team, with a genuine interest in team culture
  • Flexible to work occasional hours outside 9am to 5:30pm for Australia coordination
  • Based in or able to relocate to Lincoln, and happy working from our office full-time, this isn't a hybrid or remote role
What we offer
  • £50,000 to £60,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus performance-related bonus (structure to be confirmed)
  • 21 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Company pension
  • On-site parking
