The Wrong Shop is a profitable and established online platform founded by Sebastian Wrong in 2012. Curated with a discerning eye, it showcases limited-edition prints, posters, and objects from some of the world's leading artists, designers and art foundations, attracting collectors globally.

The business operates with a lean in-house team, supported by external agencies for campaign activation. While primarily focused on B2C sales, it also engages in B2B sales through trade and project customers. This role centres on distilling and communicating the rich visual and conceptual narratives of these artists and their work through digital channels. It will require someone who is looking for a high degree of autonomy and accountability.

The role is an exciting mix of creative and commercial and its success will be judged by its effect on increasing sales.It is ideal for someone who can bring a past track record of growth in the direct to customer ecommerce.

Responsibilities:

Digital Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the creative team to set strategy and templates to ensure efficient and consistent brand implementation.
  • Manage a team of freelance image and copy creators.
  • Create and manage a monthly content schedule for email, blog and social media.
  • Create and produce marketing plans for regular product launches.
  • Own the relationships with content creators, influencers and partners.

Ecommerce:

  • Own the eCommerce strategy to deliver the company’s business objectives tailored to local market needs.
  • Responsibility for the sales forecast by partnering with product and finance.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive traffic plan for all channels, including direct, organic, email, paid ads and referrals.
  • Own CRM including transactional, campaign, pre and post purchase emails.
  • Own paid advertising campaigns across search and social channels. Optimise ad spend to achieve the best ROI and customer acquisition cost (CAC).
  • Own all aspects of the company’s website (shopify), ensuring optimal performance, usability, and conversion rates.
  • Responsibility for marketplaces.

Analysis:

  • Utilise GA4 and Hotjar to analyse website traffic, customer behaviour, and campaign performance, gleaning actionable insights.
  • Reporting on all ecom and marketing activity - weekly and monthly.
  • Reporting to the Managing Director

Experience

  • Demonstrable personal involvement in effective sales growth campaigns.
  • Broad experience of digital channels, especially Social.
  • Shopify management.
  • International marketing and operations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, with excellent understanding of grammar and punctuation.
  • Ideally a good understanding of the art and interior design customer.

Location: Hybrid working with the team based in central London.
