Throughout this time SLR has strived to grow both organically and through welcoming other like-minded businesses, such as Wardell Armstrong, into its "One Team" of talented consultants. In doing so, its core objective is to assist clients and colleagues alike in "Making Sustainability Happen"

The opportunity:

To meet increased demand, we are looking to increase our staff numbers to cover site surveys across the North East, reporting to the Leeds office. There are various positions available including permanent and casual/temporary.

In this exciting role you will receive support and training to:

  • Assist and then independently write a variety of ecological reports including for Biodiversity Net Gain;
  • Be exposed to the full breadth of ecological consultancy in a short space of time;
  • Gain insights into the planning system and infrastructure development in the UK

As the successful candidate you will:

  • Have a genuine enthusiasm for wildlife and a willingness to develop new ecology field skills including plant identification;
  • Hold a degree or equivalent in ecology or a related discipline;
  • Hold, or be working towards, ‘qualifying member' status, or higher, of CIEEM;

  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team;
  • A full UK driving licence, and ideally access to your own vehicle

Career Progression:

We offer excellent career prospects in a supportive working environment with no restrictions on how far you can progress.

Training is provided internally as well as from external sources where needed. We support our ecologists in gaining the necessary experience and references with regard to protected species survey licences.

We offer:

  • Membership of the Firm's Group Personal Pension Plan, with Employer's contribution of up to 5%;
  • 1.5x pay/TOIL for work carried out during unsocial hours (10pm - 6am);
  • Payment of a relevant professional subscription;
  • 24 days annual leave per year, pro rata;
  • Membership to the Firm's Private Health Care Scheme;
  • Inclusion in the Firm's Critical Illness Cover Policy;
