Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking an Ecologist to join its Canterbury ecology team. The role involves carrying out habitat and species surveys, delivering Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and reports, and contributing to Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.

You will provide ecological input into planning applications, assist with mitigation strategies, and liaise with clients and professionals on varied projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience within ecological consultancy.
  • Practical field survey experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Full right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking habitat and protected species surveys.
  • Producing Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and technical reports.
  • Supporting Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and habitat surveys.
  • Providing ecological input into planning applications.
  • Assisting with mitigation strategies and ecological management plans.

A well-established environmental consultancy is seeking an Ecologist to join its expanding ecology team in Canterbury. The business works across a diverse range of development and land management projects, providing practical ecological advice from initial site assessments through to planning, mitigation and project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Ecologist to work on varied projects while developing their technical skills within a supportive and knowledgeable team.

The role will involve:
  • Undertaking habitat and protected species surveys
  • Producing Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and technical reports
  • Supporting Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and habitat surveys
  • Providing ecological input into planning applications
  • Assisting with mitigation strategies and ecological management plans
