Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an enthusiastic Ecologist for our Tetbury-based consultancy. You will undertake protected species surveys, habitat assessments and ecological appraisals, supporting planning and development from inception to completion.

You will prepare technical reports, liaise with clients and authorities, and contribute to biodiversity enhancement. A degree in ecology or environmental science and UK driving licence are required, with licences advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or related subject.
  • Experience in ecological consultancy or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Protected species licences advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake a variety of ecological surveys, including protected species and habitat assessments.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports: Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, protected species documentation.
  • Assist with project management, ensuring work is delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Liaise with clients, planning authorities and project teams.
  • Support biodiversity enhancement and habitat management initiatives.

An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and motivated Ecologist to join a growing environmental consultancy based in Tetbury. Working as part of a friendly and experienced team, the successful candidate will contribute to a wide range of ecological projects across the UK. The role offers a varied workload, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, ecological appraisals, report writing, and supporting planning and development projects from inception through to completion. The Role;

The Ideal Candidate;

  • Is an excellent communicator with strong report:writing skills.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
  • Protected species survey licences would be advantageous but are not essential.
