University Hospitals Tees is recruiting an enthusiastic echocardiographer to work across the James Cook University Hospital and the Friarage sites within a leading cardiac centre. You will perform and report echocardiograms for inpatients and outpatients, contributing to high-quality patient care across Trust sites.
The role offers opportunities for extended duties in contrast and stress echocardiography, TOE, 3D imaging, and specialized valve clinics, with involvement in research and audit
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and proficient individual who is trained within the field of Echocardiography and holds up to date BSE accredited in Adult TTE.
The successful candidate will be employed on at Band 7 and will be expected to complete internal departmental competencies.

The department offers a range of imaging procedures/clinics such as Transthoracic, TOE, DSE, Dedicated Oncology Monitoring Clinic and CRT optimisation.
As a leading tertiary centre, we offer and encourage extended roles at present these are within Research and Audit. Echocardiographers are supported through the clinical skills assessment course for the Physiologist lead valve clinics, They provide image support within our well established Structural Heart disease program (TAVI and Paravalvular closure ). Along with Physiologist led TOE and Exercise Echo.
Due to the departments infrastructure if the successful candidate has relevant experience/competence in Cardiac Cath labs, PPCI, TAVI, CRM device implants these will be maintained and they will participate in the Cath lab on call service.
The Echocardiography Unit is a large busy department split across 2 sites, the James Cook University Hospital and the Friarage. In addition, we work at number of external community clinics.
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust have come together to form University Hospitals Tees. As a result, post holders may be required to work across sites within both organisations.
