IMC Locums seeks an experienced echocardiographer to join the cardiology team in Northumbria on a 3–6 month locum basis. The role covers TTE, TOE and stress echocardiography, with high-quality diagnostic reporting and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Applicants should have BSE accreditation or equivalent, substantial echocardiography experience, and proficiency with Philips/GE/Siemens systems. Full-time hours and competitive hourly rates apply, with potential mentoring responsibilities as needed.

Role Overview

IMC Locums are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Echocardiographer to join a dynamic cardiology team in Northumbria. This role involves providing expert echocardiographic services, including transthoracic (TTE), transesophageal (TOE), and stress echocardiography. The ideal candidate will have experience in advanced imaging techniques and be confident in providing high-quality diagnostic reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret a range of echocardiographic studies, including TTE, TOE, and stress echocardiography.
• Produce accurate and timely diagnostic reports to support clinical decision-making.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care.
• Ensure compliance with relevant clinical guidelines, protocols, and safety standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff or trainees when required.

Essential Criteria

• BSE accreditation (or equivalent international qualification).
• Significant experience in echocardiography, including advanced imaging modalities.
• Proficiency in using echocardiography equipment and software from leading manufacturers (e.g., Philips, GE, Siemens).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
