The role
Responsibilities

We are now looking for a motivated & experienced Account Handler (Commercial) to join us here at the Jensten Group. Based in our Newcastle office and reporting to the Branch Manager, the main purpose of the role is to focus on our General Commercial Insurance book of business, including Property and SMEs, mainly handling MTAs, renewals, retention, and new business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Offering and presenting insurance solutions, including policies and risk management options, to secure renewals and new business. Communicating regularly with colleagues and managers to address concerns and propose solutions.
  • Identifying and pursuing cross-selling and up-selling opportunities. Utilizing all leads provided and developing new ways to increase quote volume.
  • Achieving or exceeding targets for quotes, sales, and income from various marketing sources, including personal prospecting.
  • Understanding clients' business operations, opportunities, risks, and risk management approaches.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations like FCA.
About You

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and written skills, with a keen eye for detail. You should be eager to develop professionally, with opportunities for career progression, training, and industry development. You will likely have:

  • An insurance background, especially in Commercial insurance (essential).
  • Relevant qualifications such as Cert CII or working towards them (preferable).
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • An excellent telephone manner and ability to network and build relationships.
  • A drive and passion for learning and development in insurance.
  • Experience in a similar role, working with insurers and clients.
  • Initiative and multitasking skills, with the ability to update systems and manage admin efficiently.
  • Knowledge and experience with Acturis systems (preferable).
