The role

We’re seeking a motivated & experienced Account Handler (Commercial) to join the Jensten Group. Based in Newcastle and reporting to the Branch Manager within a small team, the role focuses on our General Commercial Insurance book (including Property and SME’s). Responsibilities include handling MTA’s, renewals, retention, and new business. Key objectives and responsibilities include:

1. Offering and presenting insurance solutions, including policies and risk management, to secure renewals and new business. Communicating regularly with colleagues and managers to address concerns and provide solutions.
2. Identifying and pursuing cross-selling and up-selling opportunities. Utilizing all leads and developing new strategies to increase quote volume.
3. Achieving or exceeding targets for Quotes, Sales, and Income from all marketing sources, including personal prospecting.
4. Understanding clients’ business operations, opportunities, risks, and risk management approaches.
5. Ensuring compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations such as FCA.

About you

As an Account Handler, you should possess excellent communication and written skills, with keen attention to detail. You are eager to develop your career and can expect excellent progression, training, and development opportunities within the role and the wider Insurance industry. You will also ideally have:

• Experience in Commercial Insurance (essential)
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Cert CII) or working towards them
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent telephone manner and relationship-building skills
• Drive and passion for learning and growth in Insurance
• Previous experience working with Insurers and clients
• Initiative and multi-tasking abilities, including system updates and admin
• Knowledge of Acturis systems (preferably)
