Cornwall Council manages services for nearly 600,000 residents with a budget exceeding £1bn. We aim to be an empowering, enterprising organization, delivering value and excellent customer service. As we progress, this role will be central to our ongoing transformation.
We are establishing a new Resources and Performance service overseeing financial insight, pensions, treasury, assessment, billing, collection, and business planning. This team will provide expert advice and maintain a clear view of resource flow into the council. Reporting to our COO and acting as Deputy S151, the Service Director will ensure top-tier financial administration, develop the Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS), and shape financial plans and strategies. Additionally, you will adopt a highly commercial approach to developing traded services and related companies.
We seek highly capable, experienced, and innovative resources professionals with strategic thinking skills to integrate priorities across the council.
