Job description

Job Summary

Working across the Eating Disorder Services, the role of the Eating Disorders Advanced Lived Experience Practitioner will support the development and ongoing delivery of CNWL's Peer Support and Lived Experience Practice within the Eating Disorder Services.

The post holder will ensure Peer Support Worker (PSW) roles are created and aligned with trust policies, support PSWs and Senior PSWs, and promote the Recovery agenda across sites. They may also support PSWs in working with service users, including 1-1 lived experience support or running peer support groups.

Additionally, the postholder will contribute as a stakeholder within the Recovery and Wellbeing College and may deliver courses occasionally.

Main Duties
  • Supervision: Monthly 1-1 supervision with line manager and clinical contact post-probation; meet regularly with Senior and Parent/Carer Peer Support Workers for supervision.
  • Raise the profile of peer support internally and externally through presentations, workshops, and projects.
  • Support and cover for Peer Support Workers in various settings.
  • Use lived experience and leadership skills to inform senior management discussions on care quality and service development.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Trust externally.
  • Promote equality, diversity, inclusivity, and human rights.

  • Lead and support recruitment and role development of peer workers.
  • Ensure peer workers have resources to support recovery and social inclusion.
  • Propose policy or service improvements to foster a therapeutic, inclusive, and responsive culture.
  • Promote positive attitudes towards eating disorders and service users using an intersectional, person-centred approach.
Person Specification
Lived Experience (Essential)
  • Recovery from an eating disorder

  • First-person experiential knowledge of recovery
