The role requires extensive experience in offshore oil and gas, relevant qualifications, and strong communication skills. Locations: Aberdeen, Birmingham, Cardiff, Darlington, Edinburgh, Salford
Salary: £69,485 - £76,525 (including a Specialist Environmental allowance of £34,600 per annum). The base salary range without this allowance is £34,885 - £41,925.

As a key member of our Environmental Management Team, you will oversee the environmental assessment and approval of offshore energy projects across three regional areas of the UK continental shelf. Your responsibilities include ensuring projects comply with environmental and social objectives, reviewing impact assessments, and determining applications.
You will also support policy development on emerging environmental issues, advise operators on legislative and procedural matters, liaise with statutory consultees and environmental bodies, and manage environmental projects and research funded by the Department.
Applicants should have extensive experience in offshore oil and gas, gas unloading and storage, and carbon capture and storage. Knowledge of the marine environment, environmental impact assessments, legislation, and related issues is essential. A relevant honours degree or equivalent, along with a postgraduate qualification in Climate and Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science, Management, Pollution, Marine Resource Development, Biology, Bioscience, Marine Biology, Microbiology, or Zoology, is required.
