SAP Consultant (SAP Analytics Cloud)

6 months (potential to extend)

Up to £650 per day

ROLE PURPOSE:

This role focuses on delivering SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) in financial accounting, cash modeling, and commercial finance, emphasizing business change and seamless integration of new technologies. It supports Datasphere technology implementation for real-time data connectivity between SAP and SAC, laying a foundation for business transformation. As part of the Finance Systems team, you will lead data control, data modeling, reporting, and dashboards, while mentoring team members.

• Champion control in data, data modeling, reporting, and dashboards, minimizing risk and ensuring segregation of duties.
• Support Finance Systems during the delivery of new technology from early 2025, including SAP Rise, SAC, Treasury Management System, and a shift to analytics-based reporting.
• Guide finance end users in utilizing data and analytics effectively.
• Coordinate development of new functionalities and resolve system defects with the Technology team.

TEAM/DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

The Finance department ensures the business remains financially sound through robust accounting, reporting, and achievement of financial targets. The Finance Systems team maintains and enhances key finance systems, including SAP, Data, BI, and SAC:

• Develop and deliver the finance systems roadmap.
• Serve as the interface between finance and IT/technology teams.
• Manage enhancement projects to improve controls, efficiency, and effectiveness.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support SAP finance modules and interfaces related to data and governance.
• Oversee SAP SAC finance roles, segregation of duties, SAP GRC reviews, and mitigation reports for the Head of Financial Control.
• Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes aligned with business goals.
• Manage the finance backlog for system changes and enhancements.
• Act as liaison between finance users and IT, writing requirements for system improvements.
• Conduct initial testing of system enhancements.
• Provide training and create documentation for finance users.
• Support the monthly financial close by resolving data reconciliation issues.
• Develop knowledge of data sources and their appropriate use.
• Create business cases for data analysis and anticipate future data needs.
• Participate in data quality, master data, and metadata management activities.
• Contribute to data models, dashboards, and visualizations supporting the Finance Operating Model.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Strong academic background, including University and A-levels.
• Experience with ERP applications, especially SAC (essential), SAP ERP BW (desirable), and DataSphere (desirable), including recent implementations.
• Experience with SAC Dashboarding, Stories, and data modeling.
• Experience with process mapping tools like Visio.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of providing constructive challenge.
