About the Role: Real Estate Finance is a specialist team responsible for relationships involving Commercial Real Estate investors and developers. Our strategy of ‘by Professionals, to Professionals’ ensures our customer portfolios are comprised of market-leading operators.

Real Estate is a key sector for the UK economy and contributes significantly to UK Commercial Banking. Housing is a growth area aligned with the bank's net zero execution plan (NZEP). The Real Estate Finance (REF) team offers an outstanding opportunity to play a key role within this core sector.

Position: We are seeking an experienced individual for the role of Relationship Director.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a portfolio of customers, focusing on sales, service, risk, and operational delivery.
  2. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions, ensuring holistic relationship management.
  3. Represent HSBC and enhance the bank’s profile in the local community.
  4. Support customers by prioritizing their needs and setting high standards.
  5. Seek new opportunities and nurture existing relationships for business growth.
  6. Build a network of professional and business introducers.
  7. Adhere to credit, operational, reputation, financial crime, and regulatory risk management structures.
  8. Develop a strong understanding of clients’ businesses to provide insights and deliver fair outcomes.

Candidate Requirements:

  • First-class relationship management skills with a proven track record in a corporate client environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK Real Estate sector and understanding of the Housing Sector.
  • Knowledge of bank products, structured banking transactions, syndicated loans, bonds, and capital markets.
  • Ability to manage deal flow, credit quality, and drive income.
  • Strong risk management understanding.
  • Awareness of the UK economic, social, and governmental environment.
  • Ability to balance risk vs. reward and manage business processes strategically.
  • Personal qualities of stability, maturity, and authority, with strong team skills.
  • Excellent prioritization, organization, communication, and influencing skills.

Location and Working Arrangements: Hybrid role based in Manchester or Birmingham, requiring 3 days in the office and travel for client meetings.
