Job Description

The Assistant Construction Project Manager supports the Construction Project Managers in delivering end-to-end construction projects. This role involves assisting with all elements of project management, including project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Assist project managers by coordinating work with engineers, architects, and other partners.
  • Help prepare and manage project budgets to ensure costs are controlled and financial targets are met.
  • Ensure projects comply with permits, licenses, and regulations such as CDM and Building Regulations.
  • Participate in regular meetings, site visits, and provide feedback.
  • Assist in preparing project communications, including meeting notes, actions, updates, and financial reports.
  • Collaborate with project managers to address delays, risks, issues, or problems during projects.
  • Ensure adherence to BP Control of Work practices, policies, and Life Saving Rules, especially for high-risk activities.
  • Support in keeping project documentation up to date.
  • Lead small construction projects from start to finish.
Qualifications
  • Experience in construction project management or similar roles.
  • Interest in construction project management with a willingness to learn technical skills and qualifications.
  • Higher qualification in construction management, engineering, or related fields preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
