The Opportunity:

This role leads communications for Dreamflight, working closely with the Head of Fundraising and supported by an assistant. The focus is to enhance existing communications activities supporting fundraising, volunteer & medical nominator engagement, and brand messaging development. This new role supports the charity's growth in the UK and collaborates with the fundraising team to develop engagement strategies for all audiences.

What you'll be doing:

1. Develop and implement a communication and engagement strategy for Dreamflight.
2. Collaborate with the Head of Fundraising and team to ensure strong engagement strategies for all audiences, increasing reach and funding.
3. Refresh brand messaging to reflect the charity's growth while maintaining its values and ethos.
4. Manage the Communications Assistant, fostering their growth to achieve objectives related to income growth and audience engagement.
5. Manage content for the website, social media, newsletters, annual report, and printed merchandise, creating compelling stories that showcase Dreamflight's impact.
6. Develop a digital strategy for social media platforms to ensure contemporary content that builds engagement.
7. Track communication performance (reach, engagement, conversion), produce reports, and recommend improvements based on data.
8. Work with the CEO to manage budgets for communication activities.

What you'll bring:

• Experience in a communications or marketing role.
• Understanding of supporter journeys and audience segmentation.
• Knowledge of brand strategy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to motivate supporters with tailored content.
• Strong digital skills managing websites (e.g., WordPress), email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), and social media.
• Organizational skills with understanding of KPIs, targets, budgeting, and risk management.
• Data-driven with experience providing insights and analysis to identify opportunities.
• Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights).
• A creative mindset with a talent for storytelling.
