An understanding of the needs of people with mental health difficulties as well as of those living with dementia, and the ability to work with people who have cognitive difficulties, is essential.

We welcome applications from recently qualified Trainee Clinical Psychologists for a Band 7/8a preceptorship role. In this case, the post holder would start on band 7 and progress upwards. Please refer to the band 7 & 8a job description and person specification.

The post holder must hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

At KMPT, we are committed to diversity and inclusion. We encourage applications from people of diverse backgrounds and actively promote applications from under-represented communities, especially for senior roles like this one.

You will work as part of the Older Peoples Psychological Services, alongside Community Mental Health Teams based in South Kent Coast, focusing on Memory services and enhancing psychological approaches for Older People. The role involves multidisciplinary teamwork with community and inpatient colleagues to provide comprehensive care to older adults with complex mental health issues and dementia. Experience with neuropsychological assessment for dementia is a key requirement.

The responsibilities include contributing to service priorities, line management and clinical supervision of staff, providing consultation to carers and families, participating in staff development, and engaging in group work. The role also involves service evaluations and audits across the East Kent Directorate, with travel to various work bases as needed.

Come and work with us in the Garden of England, where we offer excellent professional development opportunities and a high quality of life.
