Job Purpose:
To serve as the technical specialist for designated stores, responsible for first call response to Fire, CCTV, EAS, Access Control, PA, and Automatic Pedestrian Gates.
Key Accountabilities
- Undertake maintenance and repairs in line with customer KPIs, including response, repair, first fix, and closure.
- Ensure all planned, reactive, and statutory works assigned to a CCTV engineer are completed according to contractual obligations as outlined in the City FM Bookcase.
- Complete PPM tasks within specified timescales, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and follows procedures and standards.
- Respond promptly to service requests from the Helpdesk during working hours and on call; out-of-hours issues will be referred to specialists.
- Identify non-repairable faults and propose corrective actions.
- Order parts as needed, ensure prompt fitting upon delivery, and chase outstanding parts not received within 5 days.
- Complete all required documentation to measure service performance and undertake surveys as requested.
- Maintain regular communication with the Duty Manager during store visits, advising on repair and maintenance issues affecting store operations.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are available and in good condition for maintenance and repairs.
- Perform Fire PPM visits to BS5839 and ensure Fire alarm systems comply with standards, reporting defects as necessary.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication, report writing, and record-keeping procedures.
- Be aware of relevant regulations and codes of practice.
- Notify the helpdesk of task completion and conditions.
- Carry out surveys and prepare reports as directed.
- Complete all work to high standards efficiently and cost-effectively, adhering to Health and Safety policies.
- Complete tasks within designated timeframes to meet company and client satisfaction.
- Attend training to keep skills up-to-date with technical and business developments.
- Ensure all mandatory online training modules are completed.
- Comply with Health and Safety at Work Act and company policies at all times.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain quality standards.
- Represent the company professionally and foster good relationships with clients and partners.
- Follow any additional instructions from City Management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- GCSE level education
- Electrical Competency Qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds)
- Experience with CCTV IP/analogue systems
- Knowledge of Fire alarm systems
- Proficient in PC use
- Ability to maintain and repair Fire, CCTV, and EAS systems (Sensormatic)
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Friendly and customer-focused manner
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work at heights and with ladders
- IPAF license holder
- Current driving license
- Ability to distinguish colours for electrical/electronic maintenance
- Willing to work flexible hours
