Overview of the role:

Successful candidates will be competent and proven EC&I Design engineers, capable of producing, checking, and facilitating designs, drawings, supporting calculations, and technical documents (including plans) with minimal supervision. They should be able to translate client requirements into meaningful engineering and technical solutions. Good communication skills and EC&I design skills are essential.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining engineering quality and ensuring compliance with client specifications, standards, and policies.
• Producing conceptual designs, optioneering studies, requirements capture, and technical documentation.
• Designing for functional safety systems (desirable).
• Managing lifecycle and maturity of projects.
• Delivering pragmatic system solutions from brief problem statements.
• Ensuring compliance with standards and legislation.
• Participating in design reviews to meet project and client requirements.
• Upholding data confidentiality and security.
• Ensuring effective project delivery within time and budget.
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and graduates (where appropriate).

Qualifications and skills:

• Knowledge of EC&I design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, E-Plan P8, or similar.
• Ability to obtain or hold security clearance; must be a British National.
• Proficiency with Office 365.
• Plant process knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge of PES technologies like PLC, SCADA, DCS, SQL Server, Modicon M, MIS/HLS.
