Job summary

Morson Talent is seeking an EC&I Engineer for a nuclear industry client. Location: Warrington or Cumbria, with a flexible and hybrid working arrangement.

As an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer you will deliver technical solutions across decommissioning, submarine support and nuclear power plant projects, interfacing with customers and supply chain, and producing calculations, reports and method statements.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS security clearance.
  • Experience in electrical engineering tasks across project types.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering knowledge to deliver project requirements.
  • Interface with customers and supply chain on design issues.
  • Ensure procedures and standards are identified and applied to engineering activities.
  • Produce technical outputs: calculations, analyses, reports, specifications and method statements.

EC&I Engineer - Nuclear Industry

Location: Warrington or Cumbria

Role Type: Full time / Permanent

This role is full time, 37-hours per week, with a flexible and hybrid working arrangement.

I am currently working with a leading client within the nuclear industry who is looking to recruit an experienced EC&I Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

The role

As an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary, from decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, through supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, to supporting the operation and build of nuclear power plants.

  • Day to day, you'll be responsible for applying engineering domain knowledge to provide technical solutions in the delivery of project requirements.
  • Assist in effective management of the customer, through interfacing with customers and supply chain on design issues and assist with procurement specifications
  • Ensure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.
  • Provide a technical interface with internal and external stakeholders at a detailed level
  • Carry out technical investigations and analysis to provide data for problem assessment/resolution and for design of improvements
  • Contribute to process improvement within the operational and/or design lifecycle to deliver continuous improvements in quality, cycle time and asset utilisation
  • Apply engineering domain knowledge to produce technical solutions and documentation in support of assigned task and project
  • Produce, review, verify outputs including: calculations, analyses, technical reports, technical specifications and method statements
Essential experience of the EC&I Engineer
  • Experience in working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams to deliver activities on a range of project types
  • Nuclear experience is not a necessity
  • Demonstrable experience in covering a variety of tasks related to electrical engineering
  • Communications skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines
Qualifications of the EC&I Engineer
  • Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in relevant engineering discipline, with demonstrable experience
  • Security Clearance
  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
