Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an EC&I Design Engineer in Bridgwater (Somerset) with hybrid/remote options. The role emphasizes electrical and control design, documentation, and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical, Control, or related engineering discipline (degree advantageous).
• Typically 3+ years in EC&I design within engineering, industrial, or regulated environments.
• Experience in regulated industries such as Oil & Gas, energy, utilities, or manufacturing.
• UK security vetting ability.

Responsibilities

• Design Delivery: Develop electrical and control designs, schematics, layouts, schedules and documentation.
• Engineering Judgement: Apply technical knowledge to equipment selection; ensure outputs are practical and buildable.
• Requirement Interpretation: Analyse project specs; raise gaps or inconsistencies.
• Problem Solving: Resolve routine design challenges within area of competence.
• Collaboration: Work with Project Managers, engineers, and production/commissioning teams.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure designs comply with procedures, ISO standards, and safety requirements.
• Record Keeping: Maintain clear, well-structured engineering records for handover.
