Content Strategist, SEO - 12 month FTC
Introduction to team
As part of Expedia Group’s SEO Content team, you'll collaborate across several fields (SEO, UX, Product, Engineering, Data Science, Localization and more) to coordinate the creation of useful and cohesive landing page content for brands such as Expedia, Vrbo, and Hotels.com.
You'll define content that helps travelers get the right information and make decisions, as well as content that is successful in a search engine environment. As a strategist, using your data-led research and innovative thinking, you'll be shaping and supporting strategic content creation end to end, from the ideation and research stage, to reviewing it live on page. You’ll coordinate directly with partners for content through various solutions, such as programmatic content, Large Language Models, and handwritten content. You’ll work across a wide variety of landing pages and product experiences for Expedia Group brands globally. You'll also play an integral role in our SEO content strategy to create impactful content through editorial practices, smart solutions, savvy SEO knowledge, and forward-thinking approaches.
In this role, you will:
Supervise content creation by drafting content briefs, coordinate with partners, and publish engaging and optimized content.
Adopt and create content guidelines, participate in feedback loops, and edit content to shape high-quality and impactful content products.
Support content quality governance and SEO impact of high priority and time-sensitive content initiatives, including GenAI generated content, and its distribution.
Perform SEO and content research, including competitor analysis, keyword research, gap analysis, and content ideation to present opportunities for growth.
Support the team's data-driven framework, coordinate testing, and analyze performance to inform decisions.
Collaborate with the content team and the wider SEO team to develop and roll out smart content solutions in line with our comprehensive SEO strategies.
Conduct regular SEO audits to identify opportunities for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Efficiently communicate with teams inside and outside of SEO on shared goals.
Stay updated on industry trends, search engine algorithms, and best practices to inform content strategies.
Share ideas and feedback to improve processes, strategies, and execution.
Experience and qualifications:
2 years experience in SEO, digital content management, or content strategy.
A good understanding of the principles behind organic search optimization.
Experience in authoring or editing landing page content with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience performing keyword research using SEO tools.
Experience working with Content Management Systems.
Outstanding organizational and project management abilities.
Preferably, a good understanding of writing for global users.
Interest in SEO and landing page content strategy; this is not a copywriting role.
Experience and/or interest in working with Large Language Models/GenAI.
Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Communications, Journalism, Marketing, etc.).
A passion for content, new technology, and digital trends.
