Telent's Network Services division is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our successful Engineering team based in Southampton. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a talented team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth and development as a Cloud Engineer through challenging projects.

The Cloud Engineer will develop and strengthen relationships with internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between the engineering team and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Cloud Engineer - Responsibilities:

  • Train internal engineering staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Assist with Professional Services and Sales opportunities within Network Services.
  • Monitor customer incidents and report on nominated accounts.
  • Highlight trends, security threats, or technical bulletins affecting customers.
  • Manage documentation and technical information related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services.
  • Follow internal and external processes regarding task allocation, completion, reporting, and change management.
  • Assist with Proof of Concept (PoC), Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Create TA, POC, RFC, WI, and SoW documentation.
  • Peer review engineering technical documentation.
  • Assist or lead in pre-staging equipment for customer sites.
  • Participate in customer meetings, support reviews, and incident reviews.
  • Ensure accurate and timely timesheet submissions.
  • Maintain relevant certifications and training aligned with role and business objectives.
  • Complete and submit overtime and expenses accurately.
  • Adhere to GDPR and security policies regarding sensitive data and security incidents.

Who you are:

The ideal candidate will have an interest in Cloud technologies, including some Azure knowledge, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange. You should have a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and experience in a medium to large support environment (IT Managed Service). Experience with On-premise Cloud Services is also desirable.

  • VCP 6.x-DCV (Desirable)
  • MCSA: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or above
  • Networking Concepts knowledge
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or above, especially clustering and availability groups
  • Azure MFA and Identity Services
  • Microsoft System Configuration Manager
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 or above
  • VMware vCloud Director knowledge
