Keoghs is a leading provider of legal and claims solutions to insurers, businesses, and other suppliers to the insurance sector.

The department handles pursuing subrogated recoveries on behalf of insurer clients. This role is within our post-litigation team, focusing on managing a portfolio of Delegated (DA) litigated cases where a Defence has been received. The goal is to recover damages and costs, request judgments promptly, and refer cases to enforcement if necessary.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Organise, prioritise, and manage workload according to standard procedures to meet critical deadlines, KPIs, and SLAs.
  2. Effectively manage the litigation process to ensure KPIs and SLAs are met, including:
  • Adhering to court deadlines
  • Drafting court documents
  • Liaising with policyholders and witnesses, including drafting witness statements
  • Applying for judgment
  • Negotiating quantum where appropriate
  • Ensuring prompt payment of damages and costs by defendants
  • Instructing enforcement actions
  • Use case management system effectively to ensure:
    • Reserving and updating key information accurately and promptly
    • Meeting critical dates
    • Documenting actions and strategies via file notes
    • Labeling documents clearly in history
  • Deliver quality work meeting audit standards.
  • Drive personal development.
  • Contribute to team efforts by collaborating to achieve targets and maintaining positive morale.
  • Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
    • Experience in a legal environment.
    • Preferably experience in quantum negotiations.
    • Proven ability to:
      • Work to deadlines
      • Handle calls and enquiries from customers, suppliers, or the public
      • Organise and prioritise workload
      • Work collaboratively in a team
      • Be IT literate (Microsoft Office: Excel and Word)
    • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
    • Open to constructive feedback and continuous improvement.
