NHS Fife Pharmacy and Medicines Directorate has an opportunity for a fixed term/secondment for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist in ADHD.
This role provides a unique opportunity to manage a caseload of patients (children, adolescents and adults) with ADHD, ideally working as an independent prescriber, to provide support and advice to patients, carers and families. You will lead the development of the pharmacy service and be a senior leader within the pharmacy team. In shaping the development of pharmaceutical care across ADHD services, you will work closely with the ADHD multidisciplinary team and provide specialist pharmacy advice and support to ensure safe, appropriate and clinically effective use of medicines in line with national guidance. You will also work across a range of specialist teams, including primary care and community pharmacies, in providing patient-centred and seamless care.
An independent prescribing qualification is essential, and a relevant post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience is desirable. Within your role, you will be supported by the lead pharmacists and will take part in peer-support networks for independent prescribers and specialist-interest pharmacists.
You will be based at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline although applicants should be flexible and be willing to have occasional travel throughout Fife, as the post covers ADHD services across Fife.
As the Senior Clinical Pharmacist, you will provide clinical leadership to our Foundation and specialist mental health pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
The NHS Fife Pharmacy and Medicines Service provides an ambitious programme of integrated care to the persons of Fife. It serves a population of approximately 380,000 people and is provided by a team of around 300 Pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Support Workers, Nurses, and Administrators. The team operate across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams. Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including our Community Pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife.
As part of our staff engagement and leadership, our Pharmacy Senior Leadership hold monthly staff briefing sessions to update the team on new developments, celebrate achievements and to hear ideas from our staff.
