NHS Fife Pharmacy and Medicines Directorate has an opportunity for a fixed-term/secondment for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist in ADHD, based at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. This role involves managing a caseload of patients (children, adolescents, and adults) with ADHD, ideally working as an independent prescriber, providing support and advice to patients, carers, and families.
You will lead the development of the pharmacy service and be a senior leader within the pharmacy team. The role includes shaping pharmaceutical care across ADHD services, working closely with the multidisciplinary team, and providing specialist pharmacy advice to ensure safe, appropriate, and effective medication use in line with national guidelines. You will collaborate with primary care and community pharmacies to deliver seamless, patient-centered care.
An independent prescribing qualification is essential; a relevant postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience is desirable. You will be supported by lead pharmacists and participate in peer-support networks for independent prescribers and specialist-interest pharmacists.
The position requires flexibility for occasional travel across Fife, as the ADHD services cover the region. You will also provide clinical leadership to Foundation and specialist mental health pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
The NHS Fife Pharmacy and Medicines Service serves approximately 380,000 people with a team of around 300 staff across various healthcare settings. The service emphasizes partnership working and continuous staff engagement through monthly briefing sessions.
For an informal discussion, please contact John Brown, Head of Pharmacy - Clinical Services Lead, or Hazel Close, Deputy Director of Pharmacy and Medicines, via MS Teams. Existing NHS employees need approval from their line managers for secondments; external applicants must have a secondment agreement in place.
