Job description

We are looking for an ambitious Biomedical Scientist to join our dedicated team within North West London Pathology.

Applications are sought from self-motivated individuals with experience of working in a busy and dynamic blood sciences laboratory, or haematology and blood transfusion laboratory, or clinical biochemistry laboratory.

We are looking for excellent technical, interpersonal and IT skills and for an individual who has a drive to develop their knowledge and skills and help take biomedical science development forward into the future.

Your ability to communicate effectively and work independently or collaboratively will make you a perfect fit for our team.

You will be instrumental in delivering, maintaining and developing the high-quality services our laboratory provides, maintaining our quality management system, and ensuring our clinical users receive the best care possible.

In addition to routine haematology, blood transfusion and clinical biochemistry, the department includes haemostasis, broad and complex blood film morphology, xanthochromia spectrophotometry, osmolality testing, special haematology and extensive haemoglobinopathy testing and an abbreviated repertoire of blood-borne virus testing.

In joining the team, you will have the opportunity to develop in all areas within blood sciences and will rotate through all disciplines.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to train the next generation of scientists, passing on your knowledge and passion for your discipline. Encouragement is being given for the development of new ideas to improve the service and quality of patient results.

Benefits include career development, flexible working, staff wellbeing programmes, staff awards and recognition scheme. We also have available benefits including Cycle to Work, car lease schemes, season ticket loan or membership options for onsite leisure facilities.
