Job Purpose:

Following a period of sustained growth over the last 5 years, we require a Head of Business Development to drive sales and marketing activity in line with our key business objectives. The role involves developing and overseeing our commercial strategy, working with the Directors to prioritize and execute projects to facilitate growth.

We seek candidates with a range of experience; we value potential as well as experience. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, outgoing, and possess strong branding, marketing, sales, and customer relationship management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work with our Directors to develop our existing commercial strategy to enable us to exceed our growth targets.
  2. Lead the business development team to increase leads, improve lead conversion, and manage the sales pipeline effectively to achieve significant income growth across our product portfolio.
  3. Drive income growth by leveraging market, industry, and economic opportunities in line with set annual targets, budgets, and KPIs.
  4. Provide research and insights to drive innovation and thought leadership. Participate actively in delivering the business development strategy, such as chairing round table discussions, establishing sector interest groups, and utilizing research and external outputs.
  5. Represent PARCOR externally through presentations and speaking engagements. Build relationships with prospects and stakeholders through networking.
  6. Create and manage social media strategies and campaigns. Support the team in creating content (blogs, press releases, literature) to position PARCOR as a thought leader.
  7. Research and secure new business tenders, frameworks, Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS), and accreditations.
  8. Organize and coordinate business and social events.
  9. Act as a brand ambassador and lead efforts to build our corporate brand.
  10. Collaborate with Directors, team members, and other departments to steer business development activities, including sector penetration and stakeholder engagement.
  11. Manage relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders.
  12. Coach and manage team members to enhance income growth. Ensure an effective sales process and lead generation.
  13. Develop market and sector knowledge, understanding client needs.
  14. Participate in senior management meetings, contribute to organizational strategy, and be involved in project teams and internal consultancy.
  15. Coordinate with other departments to ensure sales plans align with new product and service launches.
  16. Work with marketing and other teams to articulate our value proposition clearly to prospective clients.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • A degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or related fields.
  • MBA or similar business qualification.
  • Experience in Social Housing, Surveying, and Retrofit sectors.
  • Ability to build and demonstrate a strong brand.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally towards shared goals.
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in creating and proofreading copy, with attention to detail.
  • Proactive in identifying marketing and new business opportunities.
  • Experience in sales pipeline management and business development, with a proven track record of income growth.
  • Understanding of sales processes and sector networks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Strong questioning, listening, and communication skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Relationship-building skills.
