Graduate Environmental Scientist

Location: Chester or Redhill

Binnies, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Graduate Environmental Consultant to work within our Consultancy group on UK Water Engineering projects.

As a Graduate Environment Scientist, you will participate in our development programme and be a valued member of our experienced team at Binnies.

We treat each Graduate Environmental Scientist as an individual, providing relevant training, development, and support to advance your career. Our diverse team offers opportunities to develop environmental specialisms such as water or natural capital. We have an active Graduate Training Scheme and Environmental Community of Practice, supporting professional membership towards Chartership. We also offer field experience, mentoring, and training to foster your growth.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) at all project stages, including SEA, feasibility, screening/scoping, and reporting.
  2. Help prepare supporting documents for planning applications and environmental consents.
  3. Provide environmental support on projects like flood risk management, water utilities, rail, renewable energy, and large infrastructure.
  4. Support environmental fieldwork activities.
  5. Coordinate with project teams, clients, stakeholders, and the public as needed.
About You:
  • Have an environmental-related degree.
  • Are or are working towards IEMA membership or similar.
  • Have a good understanding of EIA.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoy innovation and technological and ecological advances.
  • Hold a full UK driving license.
