Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.

Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity, and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.

We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards!

We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing, and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support, and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

At our services, there are 11 of us altogether, living in 5 separate properties all in the same street, and we all enjoy spending time with each other. Our residences include four at number 1 Sycamore Way, four at number 2 Sycamore Way, and individual bungalows at numbers 3, 4, and 10 Sycamore Way, some of which are wheelchair adapted. We all have different hobbies and interests but enjoy spending time together.

  • We enjoy outings within our community, like shopping trips or dining out. Some of us enjoy physical activities such as discos, bowling, dancing, playing pool, or going to the gym. Your support will help facilitate these activities.
  • We also like hobbies at home, including puzzles, board games, baking, arts and crafts, and karaoke parties. We appreciate when staff join in our activities.
  • Maintaining relationships with loved ones is very important, and we will need your support for this.
  • We prefer staff to share similar interests and to be kind, caring, and compassionate. We would not get along well with people who are bossy.
  • Humor is valued; it’s important that staff can make us laugh and share jokes.
  • There is always at least 1 staff member on shift in each house, with shift patterns varying from 24-hour sleepovers, 12-hour day shifts, to shorter 6-8 hour 1:1 shifts.
Your values:

We recognize that working in social care requires a special person. We are passionate about recruiting individuals based on values and from all walks of life, whether experienced support workers, those with lived experience, or newcomers to the sector.

Our core values are: We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable. We seek individuals who demonstrate:

  • Patience
  • Empathy, compassion, and sensitivity
  • A strong work ethic
  • Reliability
  • Honesty
  • Determination
  • A problem-solving attitude
  • Resilience
