Job Title: English Teacher
Location: M22, Manchester
Salary: £135 - £205 per day (DOE)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Reeson Education is proud to be working in partnership with an exceptional SEMH provision in the M22 area of Manchester. We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join their dedicated team on a permanent basis, making a meaningful impact on the lives of students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

About the English Teacher Role:

As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational journey of young learners. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging English lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment that fosters a love for English literature and language.
  • Supporting students' emotional well-being alongside their academic progress.
  • Implementing the school's policies and ethos to support positive learning outcomes.
  • Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of your role.

Curriculum Responsibilities:

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons to suit different learning styles.
  • Adapting teaching methods to support pupils with SEMH needs and additional learning challenges.
  • Preparing students for public exams and assessing their progress to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and ensuring that learning activities are engaging and effective.

Pupil Engagement:

A successful English Teacher in this role will excel in building strong, positive relationships with pupils. You will:

  • Encourage students to develop confidence and a sense of achievement through engaging English lessons.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies that promote a supportive and inclusive classroom.
  • Work closely with support staff and leadership to provide a well-rounded learning experience.

General Duties of an English Teacher:

In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will be expected to:

  • Prioritise the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils, following school policies at all times.
  • Engage in regular professional development to enhance your teaching practice.
  • Act as a role model, setting high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
  • Provide regular feedback to students, helping them to set and achieve their personal learning goals.

Assessment and Reporting:

Accurate assessment and reporting are key aspects of the English Teacher role. You will:

  • Track and monitor pupils' academic progress and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain detailed records and provide insightful reports for annual reviews and meetings.
  • Use assessment data to adapt lesson planning and interventions to maximise student success.
